A Look Behind: A Photo Essay

Judging by your beautiful Instagram shots, one of our riders’ favorite #AmtrakViews is out the back of the last car of the train — you know, that iconic shot of the rails receding into the distance as the train speeds towards adventure. Traveling photographer Brian Green took these from the back of the California Zephyr as he made his way across the country on a USA Rail Pass.

Why the series of retrospective pics? Brian explains: “During my travels I would see people looking out the back of the train and I find that interesting, the idea of looking back at where you just were instead of looking out towards where your going.”
