The #NerdTrain Adventure
When one group of young people came up with a hair-brain idea about meeting in different cities around the country and traveling to them by train, it was all about the fun and adventure. Three years later, they’re still at it, and racking up tons of rail miles not to mention Amtrak Guest Rewards points along the way!

South by Southwest or Bust
This group of tech innovators, entrepreneurs and thought-leaders documented their journey on the Texas Eagle using the hashtag #AmtrakLIVE on Twitter and Instagram.

During the 33-hour trip they managed to share everything from the gorgeous scenery of the Southwest and pictures of the wonderful Amtrak employees to envy-inducing snaps of the renowned steak dinner and adorable baby Miles, who was the youngest member aboard the #AmtrakLIVE train.

Heading to the Big Game
The rules for the #AmtrakRivalry train were simple. 1. Have fun. 2. Hashtag often. 3. Cheer really freakin’ loud. Michigan State fans packed a train from Chicago to East Lansing to watch the Michigan State Spartans take on the Big Blue of University of Michigan. When fans stepped off the train at their destination, they were even greeted by the media. See, riding the train really does make you a star!

In Search of Powder
TJ DavidTrent BonaCaleb Brown and Whit Boucher traveled on the Empire Builder to ski some of the best terrain in the country. Even more awesome? All of it has been captured in a new web series called Storm Cycles for Epic TV and on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #AmtrakSeason! They even taught fans how to pack their skis and bring them on the train. Helpful, huh?

A Weekend Blitz
Jeffrey and McCown wanted to go somewhere cool. So they booked a roomette aboard our Silver Meteor one hour before the train left the station. They call it a Weekend Blitz, and rightfully so!

“It was a very spontaneous, spur of the moment decision,” Jeffrey says of their getaway from Charleston, S.C., to New York City. “We were using Amtrak Guest Rewards points, and it was the same amount of points between Miami and Boston, so we were attracted by the big city feel of New York.”
