The Perfect Fall Trip Aboard the Adirondack’s Dome Car

Fall has finally arrived on the East Coast, which means it’s the perfect time to plan a scenic train trip. We’re excited to announce Amtrak’s great dome car is returning to to the world-famous Adirondack service just in time for you to experience the splendor of Upstate New York’s fall foliage season.

Your picturesque route will depart from New York’s Penn Station and journey up to Montreal, Canada. The upper level of the dome car features windows on all sides (including the roof!), providing you with panoramic views of the changing leaves, farmers in their fields, and the scenic towns along way. Highlights include sweeping vistas of Lake Champlain and breathtaking views of the Adirondack Mountains between Albany and Montreal.

The dome car is only returning for a six-week run from September 29th through November 1st. The service operates northbound from Albany to Montreal on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays and returns south on Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays.
