Holiday Parades for Your Family

ParadesGood cheer, quality time and memory making with family and friends, that’s what this time of year is all about. We love being your ride any day of the year, but it’s extra special when we can take you to the joys of the holiday season.

Earlier this month, we highlighted Thanksgiving Parades across the country. But with the temperatures dipping we can’t help but get into the winter holiday spirit. Here are just a few winter holiday parades we’d love to take you to:

Anaheim, CA
Main Street, USA is located in sunny SoCal, but it gets winterized when the Disney characters and the jolly guy make an appearance at A Christmas Fantasy Parade. With a daily parade on the weekdays and two on the weekend, this one is perfect for the little ones and the young at heart too.
Route: Pacific Surfliner

Atlanta, GA
The largest holiday parade in the Southeast will be at it again, when historic Peachtree Street turns into Santa Lane on December 6 for the Children’s Christmas Parade. This parade with a purpose benefits the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and features marching bands, floats and surprises. We say, hop on the train head to Atlanta and enjoy this local favorite. Route: Crescent

Oakland, CA
Back for its 15th year, the America’s Children’s Holiday Parade is set to entertain, wow and dazzle the children in your family. This Northern California family event will be stocked with your favorite parade staples, live music, holiday cheer and balloons. Make this holiday a memorable one for your family, book your train ticket and head to Oakland!
Route: Capitol Corridor, San Joaquin and Coast Starlight

Portland, OR
Not all parades happen on land. The Christmas Ship Parade in Portland is proof of that. Celebrating its 60th anniversary, this parade features ships and skippers decorated in holiday lights as they sail along the Columbia and Willamatte Rivers. Attendees will be wowed by the display of holiday spirit that glide along the rivers. We have plenty of routes that can take you and yours to Portland for this unique parade. Who’s in?
Routes: Coast Starlight, Amtrak Cascades and Empire Builder
