Tomorrow, 30th Street Station in Philadelphia will reopen its West Plaza unveiling upgrades to the third busiest station in the country. If you sing Fly, Eagles Fly every Sunday or if you just frequent the City of Brotherly Love, you’ll definitely enjoy these new features.
Improved connectivity makes you a happy traveler and we get that. That’s why we've added nine new bike racks to the West Plaza. But wait there’s more! The City of Philadelphia will add six more bike racks on the 29th Street side of the station creating a total of (drum roll please), nearly 150 new spaces.
Improved energy efficient LED lighting means increased security and safer walking conditions for the students, faculty and staff that frequent the station from Drexel University, University of Pennsylvania, along with all of the University City neighborhood residents.
Drivers, we want to keep you happy too. That’s why the West Plaza now has 14 new spaces on Little Market Street, expanded vehicle lanes and more kiosk-based metered parking.
It may not seem ideal in the colder weather, but our enhanced outdoor seating will be a welcomed addition in the warmer months. Amtrak riders and 30th Street Station visitors will now benefit from expanded outdoor seating, landscaping and overall a prettier West Plaza. To answer your question, yes we think we’re fancy.
