Rocky Mountain High to California Dreamin’

Rocky Mountain High to California Dreamin’

While we have many cross country routes to choose from, a fan favorite is the California Zephyr. It could be because it traverses the Rockies past some breathtaking views, but don’t take our word for it. Check out this Instagram slideshow of the best the Zephyr has to offer, and then consider this weekend trip that’s as easy as 123:

For Coloradians who are California dreamin’:

San Fran is famous for tasty fare. Check out popular restaurants like Whitechapel Gin Bar for a crafted cocktail, or Saigon Sandwich for authentic Bánh mì. San Francisco is full of interesting shops n’ stops, like Dog Eared Books featuring curated picks from poetry to travel guides. Or check out the nation’s oldest Chinatown for unique stores and famous dim sum.  You definitely won’t wan to miss a ride on the cable cars through the city at sunset. Lastly, see the sights. No visit to San Fran is complete without a stop at the Golden Gate Bridge.

For ‘Friscans headed to Rocky mountain high:

Denver is home to some pretty famous craft breweries listed here, plus some great brewery tours, like Denver Chop House which was originally (you guessed it) a train station. Craving some farm-to-table freshness? Enjoy dishes straight from local fields at Potager. Looking for a unique gastro pub? Euclid Hall is where it’s at. Or, catch a game at Coors Field. Oh! And don’t forget to check out Denver Union Station, it has lots of great eats and events.
