March 17th is around the corner, but you don’t need the luck of the Irish to enjoy St. Paddy’s Day. So dig out your favorite green pants, shamrock glasses and let’s find some green beer. Why take Amtrak? Let’s face it — you’re probably going to want a DD. Cheers!

Boston: Bostonians know how to party hard in St. Patrick’s honor. With the help of a large Irish population, the Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade has been full of Emerald Isle pride for decades. Join fellow revelers on the parade route, and then stop into some South Boston pubs for traditional Irish fare.

Chicago: Bagpipers, traditional Irish line dancers, veterans groups and folks of all ages line the parade route of downtown Chi Town, as the rivers run green during this historic Midwestern St. Patrick’s Day parade. Wave to the Leprechauns as they pass and then set out to try a famous Chicago-style hot dog.

New York: Irish pride is surely on parade during New York’s St. Patrick’s day festivities. This grand gathering weaves through NYC with lots of stops along the way for a good ol’ fashioned Guinness.

Los Angeles: LA is one of the country’s best foodie cities, and their Irish fare is no exception. Check out this list of great Irish pubs in La La Land then head to the beach to enjoy the sand n’ surf (don’t forget the SPF!), as the Hermosa Beach St. Patrick’s Day parade promises family fun for all.

Denver: Join Irish government officials, festive floats, and a cheering crowd right outside Denver’s Union Station for some Rocky Mountain Irish pride. This parade will also feature horses, a parade Queen, and plenty of festive treats for little ones.

Seattle: The Emerald City really represents the Emerald Isle spirit, since there’s not just a one day celebration! The Seattle Irish Week Festival has plenty of opportunities to hear live Irish music, learn an Irish jig, or watch the city’s parade with plenty of people in full Irish regalia.
