Help Decide the Future of the Northeast Corridor – Get your Comments in to the FRA

As rail travel continues to expand in the Northeast Corridor, a major federal study – NEC FUTURE – is underway to shape future investments. Your input is needed before the February 15 deadline to help decide the role that rail travel will play in the 21st century Northeast economy and transportation system. As the majority owner of the Northeast Corridor, Amtrak will submit comments on the Federal Railroad Administration’s (FRA) Tier 1 Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and we encourage you to do so as well. The opportunity to comment on the FRA’s Draft EIS is a once in a generation opportunity to transform the NEC into a system that could provide top-notch service including world class high speed rail, greater capacity, improved trip times and better reliability.

Amtrak will submit its comments to the FRA within the open comment period, which ends February 15, 2016 and we encourage you to submit your comments as well. To get involved, head here.
