#ReasonsToRide: It’s Accomodating

Providing an accommodating travel experience to our riders has and always will be a focus for us at Amtrak. Our dedicated staff members work to ensure that the planning, booking and enjoying the journey is accommodating to every rider that boards the train. If you’re new to Amtrak you might be surprised to see all of services we provide to riders everyday. We invite you to read on and learn more about why we say our accommodations are another reason to ride.

Red Caps at Your Service

Every so often you might need a hand navigating the train station. That’s why we have our Red Cap service – dedicated Amtrak staff you can count on for free baggage handling assistance. In some of our busiest stations (twelve to be exact), Red Cap staff members assist riders with their baggage. But they do more than just carry luggage. The Red Cap Team help passengers with disabilities, senior citizens and large groups navigate the station.  Find out how Red Caps and help you before your next journey.

Downtown to Downtown
Arriving at your destination and not having to hop in a car and sit in traffic is the best. Isn’t it? That’s why so many Amtrak riders love taking the train and arriving refreshed and ready to roll. Pick a pair, Chicago to Kansas City, Portland to Seattle or NYC to Boston, city center to city center is the way to go.

Train Attendant
One of the best perks of having sleeping accommodations when you take a cross country trip is you get a dedicated train attendant. It’s similar to room service in a hotel but much, much better. Train attendants book meal reservations for you, make and take down your bed, carry your luggage, tell you when your stop is coming up and keep you company when you want to chat. They’re great and FREE with any sleeper car reservation.

Peace & Quiet Car
You’re looking for a place with minimal distractions (translation: no cell phones) and you also need a spot where you can take a quick nap because yes that weekend getaway was that epic. Meet the Quiet Car. The Quiet Car has a library-like atmosphere and a strict no cell phone policy. It’s located at the opposite end of the train from the Café Car and is marked with special signs so loud-talkers don’t wander in by mistake. If this blissful place sounds like something you need on your next ride, you can learn more about it here.
