4 Labor Day Destinations Just A Train Ride Away

4 Labor Day Destinations Just A Train Ride Away

While it may still may feel like the dogs days of summer in many parts of the country, summer is slowly coming to an end, which means it is time to plan one more trip. Lucky for you there’s a four-day weekend on the horizon and we’re ready to be your ride.  We have 500 destinations to choose from but we handpicked four cities worth a ride for your Labor Day weekend.

Denver
Take a scenic ride on our California Zephyr, hop off in Denver and get ready for a busy weekend. Outdoorsy enthusiasts will enjoy zip lining, mountain adventures and rafting. Concert goers can pick between Ms. Swift or Phish when both entertain crowds over the weekend. But why stop there, the Rockies have a home game stint, the Colorado State Fair is in town and so is comedian Kevin Hart. Told you, a busy fun weekend awaits you in Denver. Good thing you can sleep on the train on the way home because you just might be tuckered out.

Atlanta
A little bit for everyone. That’s the best way to describe what’s going on in Atlanta Labor Day Weekend. The annual Atlanta Black Pride Weekend celebration is back with more events and more parties. Meanwhile over at the Georgia Dome, college football kicks into gear when Auburn takes on Louisville. It’s no national championship game, but hey, football is finally back! Rounding out the weekend is Dragon Con, a 3-day a science fiction conference for comic fans, gamers and of course costumers. Is Peachtree ready for all this fun? Better question, are you?

All O’California
As you wind down this summer, end with a SoCal inspired baseball train tour. This Labor Day weekend the Padres and Angels both have home game stints and our Pacific Surfliner can take you to both. If your baseball fandom skews to the Northern California teams we got you covered there too. The A’s will be at home in the Bay and the Capitol Corridor will take you right to the Coliseum. Let baseball be a part of your in this September and let us be your ride. Bonus Cali Baseball: The Dodgers play the Padres, it’s almost a full California baseball trifecta.

Washington, DC
Head to our nation’s capital for a memorable weekend. Take in a game a Nat’s Park and see the famous President’s Race. Or take in some live music at that National Gallery of Art Jazz in the Sculpture Garden, the DC Blues Festival or the Labor Day Capitol Concert. If you prefer indoor fun, visit one of the many museums in the District or try out the Library Congress National Book Festival. Tons to do in DC and with nine Amtrak routes, it’s only a ride away.
