Upgrades to AmtrakConnect

We are always looking for ways to make Amtrak the smarter way to travel, which is why we’re excited to share that we recently gave our AmtrakConnect page an upgrade. If you haven’t noticed yet, here’s what you can expect:

Track a Train
Our interactive tracking tool gives riders real-time information and ETAs  for their train. That means riders can better plan out their productive (or down) time on the train. Just click through and you’ll be up to date on your train information.

Station Information
Are you wondering if your destination station has Red Cap Service, an Amtrak Lounge or even an ATM? Before you hop off, you can now do a little research via AmtrakConnect and arrive ready for the rest of your travel adventure.

Read All About It
Whether you’re looking for a new book or just want to catch up on the news, the new AmtrakConnect landing page has it covered.  Book worms can now test ride over 20 hand selected books from Random House. Like what you read? In a few clicks you can purchase and download to your e-reader. If you’re more of a news junkie, then take a glimpse at the New York Times, Washington Post, Financial Times and other national newspapers right from the page. Simply click, read and unwind.

Kids Depot
You didn’t think we left the little rail fans out did you? The new page has easy access to Kids Depot, an interactive game center built to entertain the kiddies. Log on and they’ll enjoy train puzzles, the learning zone and other games to pass the time.

Amtrak News and Travel Alerts
Join Amtrak Guest Rewards, learn more about our long distance routes or plan that Amtrak Vacation you’ve always wanted, straight from the AmtrakConnect page. When you log on, you can also view real-time information regarding current or upcoming travel alerts.

Our AmtrakConnect upgrades are now live on all Acela trains and will be rolled out on the remaining wifi routes in the upcoming  months. Now that we gave you a peek at what you we’ve added, it’s time to explore. Enjoy the journey!
