Stylish Dallas: Your Next Stop for a Girl’s Weekend

Flowers 1Sometimes you just need a trip with the girls. No boys, no children, just the ladies. Girl’s weekends are the perfect time to decompress from real life and more importantly let loose.

Last time we recommended a girl’s weekend, it was all about The Chi. This time around we’re taking it to The D! We chatted with Blair, Ellen and Janie Flowers better known as the ladies behind the Dallas blog The Perennial Style for all of their top recommendations of what to do on your girls weekend to their hometown.

Amtrak: Every girl’s weekend should kick off with two things: a cocktail and a good meal. What are your recommendations for places in Dallas that have both?
The Flowers Sisters:
For the full Texas feel, Mi Cocina in Highland Park Village is perfect for Tex-Mex and delicious margaritas! Bar 31 is also a favorite of ours for Friday night drinks and sushi. If you are looking for small plates and festive cocktails, Victor Tangos is a great choice!

Sometimes you need to put on your LBD, your heels and dance the night away. Where are some spots in Dallas where ladies can let their hair down and have a good time?
Uptown and Henderson are two of our favorite areas for a night out with girlfriends. If you are venturing downtown, be sure to stop by Midnight Rambler for craft cocktails with friends, which is hidden underneath the chic Joule Hotel!

Exploring the city, a little pampering or shopping what are your picks for the best daytime fun with your besties?
Brunch is always step one for daytime fun with the besties. If the weather permits, outdoor spots like Ice House, Rustic, or Truck Yard are great for casual drinks, whereas Klyde Warren Park is perfect for a free fitness class, lawn games, or food truck bites!

For a little retail therapy, Dallas is stocked with some of the best shops! For luxury boutiques, try Stanley Korshak, Neiman Marcus flagship downtown, Tootsies, Forty-Five Ten, or anywhere in Highland Park Village. Milk & Honey and Riff Raff are two of our favorites for trendy weekend wear!

Sisters-CheersingOur picks for pampering: massages at ESPA at the Joule Hotel, blowouts and makeovers with Blownaway App, manis and pedis at Bellacures, and yoga at Exhale Spa.

If your girls are only in town for a couple of days what are some must-see sights?
The Nasher and DMA are two of our favorite museums, especially when they host Friday night events! The Perot Museum and the Bush Library are two spots to put on the list as well. If you visit Dallas in the summer, definitely pack a picnic and a bottle of wine to check out one of the outdoor concerts at the arboretum!

No girl’s weekend is complete without a bountiful Texas brunch. Where are your favorite brunch spots?
Brunch is a weekend ritual for us, so picking a favorite is definitely tough! To brunch like a Dallas native, Taverna, Toulouse, Villa-O, Common Table, Sangria, or Nick and Sam’s Grill are always a fabulous choice! To switch up locations, Bishop Arts is packed with great brunch spots as well! If you are lucky enough to be in Dallas during a ZaZa Sunday School brunch, this is an absolute must.

What else would you like our Amtrak riders to know about visiting Dallas with the girls?
We can’t think of a better city to spend a girl’s weekend with all of the glamour Dallas has to offer! When packing for Dallas, one thing to remember is it’s better to overdress than underdress. It’s a very fashion-forward city, so it’s the perfect excuse to try out a new trend you’ve been eyeing!
