I'm surprised to see the old livery as well. But what I really want to know is has Amtrak figured out how to brew a decent cup of coffee? You need to bring in outside help. Give Stumptown or some other roaster of merit a call.
Watch! New Long Distance Cars
Customers traveling long distances on the East Coast can expect some big upgrades. Specifically 130 new long distance cars! Here's a sneak peek of what exactly we have in store for you.
Manufactured right in Elmira, N.Y. by CAF USA, the new sleeper cars, dining cars and baggage cars will begin riding the rails by 2014. Not only do the new cars make traveling America by train even more memorable, they also put people to work. We're pretty proud of that.

I am an Amtrak Employee, and just thrilled to see these new cars! Very proud to be a part of Amtrak!
Curious: what's up with the old livery and the old logo? Is Amtrak going back to the 1970s-1990s branding?
Great to see complete delivery is expected during 2015 instead of 2017! Any word on whether the Superliner II sleepers will see interior upgrades sometime soon? I love the warm and contemporary woodgrain decor on the refurbed Superliner I sleepers. :-)
