His Father's Son

Daniel’s father was one of those employees for more than 30 years, starting as a janitor and working his way up to foreman. In honor of his father’s dedication to Amtrak, this soldier “always takes the train.” Here he waits outside Chicago’s Union Station, which serves as a hub for many of Amtrak’s long-distance trains, awaiting a train to his next posting.
