Photo of the Week!

@nickbrokaw

This edition of Photo of the Week is brought to you by Nick who captured this warm and sunny pic while onboard our Southwest Chief, that runs between LA and Chicago.

The Southwest Chief is one of Amtrak’s long-distance trains. It travels across the mighty Mississippi, through eight states and past wheat fields, mountains and even deserts. Some of the coolest parts about the trip are when the train goes through canyon passages only a few feet wider than the train itself.

For the best views (and Instagram pics), check out the observation car, also sometimes referred to as our sightseer lounge (ohhh, fancy). With their floor-to-ceiling windows, they bring daydreaming out the window to a whole new level … literally. That’s because when you’re in one you’re actually on the second floor of the train.

Don’t just take our word for it, though. Take a trip for yourself!

If you’d like to submit your best Amtrak pics for our Photo of the Week contest,  tag your photo #Amtrak. Each Friday we’ll pick the best one from that week to feature here on our blog!
