Today our new Amtrak Cities Sprinter (ACS-64) locomotive leaves the Siemens rail manufacturing plant in Sacramento to head east for field testing. Equipped with a custom train wrap (check out the sweet photo above), the ACS-64 will travel on our California Zephyr and Capitol Limited routes before arriving at its final destination in Wilmington, Delaware. Once there, the new locmotive will complete a variety of tests along the Northeast and Keystone Corridors.
As the locomotive travels across the country, we invite you to snap, tag and share. If you see the ACS-64 while traveling with us snap a photo, tag it with #Amtrak and share it with us on Instagram. Check back on our social channels (here, here, or here) to see all of the Amtrak Cities Sprinter photos from across the country.

All this news about these new locomotives is nice and great but what I want to know more about is the new Viewliner cars. I'm anxioust about when they'll be arriving and where they'll be assigned. The former Night owl/Twil;ight Shoreliner would be an obvious first candidate for the new sleepers.
