CEO: ‘Let us Take you Somewhere New this Year’

Today marks the 42^nd birthday of Amtrak, America’s Railroad, and there’s a lot to celebrate.

Not only have we connected more than 500 destinations across the country, but we’ve employed tens of thousands of Americans, including the more than 20,000 folks who keep your trains running 365 days a year.

We’re also proud of the fact that our new eTicketing system earned us a national award and a high-profile advertising campaign, which you can read more about here.

I could go on, but the most important thing to do on a birthday is to make a wish.

So, for our 42^nd anniversary, my wish is that we’ll get to take you somewhere new this year. Unplug your iPods, decide on a destination, grab your friends and family, then let us handle the rest.

We’re thankful for your decades of loyalty and hope to see you on the rails sometime soon!
