Photo of the Week!

Glacier Park from the Empire Builder

This week’s photo comes courtesy of Irv, who captured this breathtaking image onboard No. 8 train, the Empire Builder, which travels between Seattle and Chicago.

The Empire Builder is Amtrak’s true “adventure” train. A few generations ago, this route was pure wilderness. Today, it’s a busy railroad corridor connecting cities along the northern plains.

Stops along the way, like the one Irv snapped, are surrounded by some of the country’s most awesome scenery. In fact, Glacier Park is surrounded by 50 “living” glaciers and 10,000 ft. mountains. The park even has more than 700 mi. of trails–a hiker’s paradise!

After a hike like that, you’ll be glad we’re handling the driving, so you can rest your legs!
